“Kosova Steel” (Former “Zastava - Ramiz Sadiku”) established in 1965, is one of the biggest automotive parts producer on the south east Europe.

Manufacturing, automotive parts for “Zastava” passenger cars and “Iveco-Zastava” trucks chassis. In addition, the factory produced long beams for pay load “FAP-Mercedes” vehicles and Poland motor industry passenger cars rear axle housing.

Within privatization process in Kosova, Late April 2006, the company owned by Albanian Americans, Sadri Gjonbalaj and Florin Krasniqi.

General Information

Today company has an advanced production program for producing auto parts, mechanical detail-parts, various metallic forms within cold plastic deformation technology. 

The Company owns a 150,000 m2 surface in Peja, Kosova, including 56,000 m2 of covered surface

Manufacturing parts for “Zastava” passenger cars program, chassis from the “Iveco-Zastava” economy vehicles program.  Additionally, the factory produced long beams for “FAP-Mercedes” trucks.

Within the passenger cars program, the factory produced:

- Exhaust systems;

- Front and rear seats skeletons; and

- Moldings and trims for different car models.

Furthermore, exhaust boilers for “Zastava” cars, the factory also manufactured exhaust systems for the spare parts program within the repairs/maintenance system for:

A considerable part of services derive also from the factory tool shop. Equipped with modern machinery, manufactures all sorts of tools.

Advanced laboratory, researching metal and non-metal materials using ultrasound and X-rays, offers a wide variety of services.

Factory’s products are homogenous and meet the industry’s technical criteria. Regular and detailed product inspection is carried out as a guarantee of keeping to the high-quality level of products.

Technical Capabilities

All technological processes used for finalizing production are represented in the factory:

- Pressing Shop:

Press Shop within three press lines, unique on the region of Balkan, consisting of a total of 100 eccentric and hydraulic presses with press forces from 1,600 kN up to 30,000 kN, metal thickness up to 10mm and longwise 10 m. The wide range of presses enables the costumer to turn to Kosova Steel for all its press requirements. Either for the quick outsourcing press capacity; series production of pressed parts or spare part production.                                           

- Tool Shop:

Within surface of 40m x 150m organized the sector for maintaining of tools and devices. This sector dispose all needed machines for making of tools, classic and progressive ones, with planes, scraps, drills, treatment centre, erosion with wire, grousing with B electrode, with machines and digital tools programmed for treatment and measuring, for thermal treatment and device for investigating the quality of mechanical and thermal treatment.

- Iron sheets and pipes plastic deformation technology:

Supplied with cutting pipes machines programmed and numeric machines for twisting of pipes, hydraulic machines for different deformations of pipes and other devices which complete the technology of production.

- Superficial protection – through painting.

Consisting two lines for surface protection through painting:

    -with melted color in water according to the system of rising

    -“piroksal” system for protecting through spraying

- Cutting technology – scrapped parts removal; (from 0.5 mm up to 10 mm)

- Welding technology;

- Thermal treatment;

The company has started ambitions program to become leader industry in metalworking not only for Kosova but for whole region. Till now company has established rapports with new clients as:

Kosova Steel is working to put in operation permanent railway transport of goods with Verona Italy.  In the near future Kosova Steel is going to create big stock warehouse for steel raw materials taking in consideration that is equipped with direct railway connection and loading/unloading capabilities and huge covered storing place.
